Heterochromia Haters? Who would've thought?
Although Heterochromia may seem pretty cool, most of the 1% of the world's population have tried extensively to prevent it. This is due to a very self-conscious world. People would not want this (cool) autosomal disease because...:
1. They may think it affects the way that a high school/college weights your application, seeing as how it is a chromosomal disorder. Heterochromia does not result in death, nor is it contagious, allowing for it to be perfectly harmless.
2. The same way a teenager thinks it affects chances of college acceptance, an adult may think it affects his or her chance of getting a job, especially if it includes having to socialize with other companies. Some business managers do not wish to have such a disorder because they believe it will ruin their chance of having a good impression on a potential partner. Heterochromia may also distract the potential partner, making him or her have to put in more effort to maintain interest
3. Although most think a model with heterochromia would look unique, but a model in the industry may be scared to stand out so much. A fashion industry, especially one including clothing or makeup, would hate to have models that have heterochromia. This is because with the different colored eyes, the general public may get the wrong message that the industry is trying to get across. The company may seem to be trying to bring about a new idea of different colored eyes, when really they are trying to show off a model's face.
